Why PFAS feels confusing on a water report

A basic pitcher filter may improve taste, but PFAS performance depends on the media, contact time, filter condition, and test data. A pitcher that handles chlorine taste is not automatically a PFAS system.

A TDS meter can also mislead people. Total dissolved solids is a broad mineral reading. It does not tell you whether PFAS is present. Low TDS does not prove PFAS is gone, and high TDS does not prove PFAS is present. Use a lab test or a report, not a handheld meter, for that question.
How to choose a filter category
For drinking water PFAS concerns, reverse osmosis is often a strong category to consider because it uses pressure to push water through a semipermeable membrane. Look for three things before choosing any system:
